About me.

My life time passion has been to teach people to grow their own food in the best ways possible for the highest quality and maximum vitamin content.

Since I was under the age of 8 years old I was obsessed with growing my own vegetables ad fruit. I was known as that odd child that was always giving away buckets of tomato's or giving everyone gardening advice.
I constantly suprised adults with my plant knowledge and the names for them.

Since I was 13years old, I have been researching and developing the ideas and plans for a "food forest" or what I will call a "FORAGE AND FEAST" where people can come and pick and eat their own, while they see and learn the easiest, simplest, and best ways they can grow their own in limited spaces, for suprising little or no cost !

I know in my heart and soul that if I do get a chance to develop my FORAGE AND FEAST how I want to do it, on a major highway, for the free advertising and exposure, that it will become a world wide attraction. I know my stuff more than anyone can imagine, it is my passion, with a passion, and my vast studies, thoughts, theory's and concepts has astounded scientists, university professors, lecturers, farmers, orchardists, market gardeners as well as ordinary people, and I know I have earnt their admiration and respect for the aquired knowledge of a lifetime.
I am also passionate about natropathy, and any forms of natural healing and therapies, and feel that horticulture, permaculure, and natural and herbal remedies all tie in together with my

I feel so humbled at the gifts of knowledge I have aquired during my life, and this was because of my overwhelming passion to learn as much as I possibly can about plants, gardens, nature and the best way to work with nature and the elements, not against it.
I am a lateral thinker, and often look at things in a different way, I look at the bigger broader picture, while keeping things as simple and as easy as possible.

FREE FOOD IN A LARGER SCALE
In Australia, every year millions of dollars are spent and lost on what is called an enviornmental disaster, called "rabbits" There is a huge cost in giving rabbits diseases like miximatosis and calicivirus that cause the animals to die horrible and agonising deaths, and then the meat and fur is just left to rot and be wasted, quite foolish and senseless really when we shoukd be eating the meat, which is an extremely healthy, no cholesterol, no fat, and no hormones or chemicals fed to them. In fact we should look at rabbits as a natural resourse that replenish themselves.
The major benefits to this are, the is no set up or management costs. They don't need to be fed as they self feed, but giving feed for a few weeks before trapping will bring more and fatter rabbits. Then the furs could be used to get a tanning industry running well enough to export rabbit fur coats, rabbit fur jackets, rabbit for bedsreads, rabbit fur gloves, rabbit fur hats, rabbit fur cushions, the list could go on and on.
When the animal activists and greenies get on their band wagons about the cruelty to animals and against wearing fur, they need to be reminded that as it is now they are culled but poisoning them to die an agonising death, and all that is good and usable is wasted, at least this way they will die a quick painless death and all is not in vain as they provide food and clothing. Even if the Aussies are too fussy to eat rabbit, we can at least export the meat, and sell it cheap to the countries where there is food shortages. A tanning industry can easily be started by using sentenced prisoners, or people that owe money for fines for the labor work.
Kangaroo's are the same as rabbits, they become such a problem with there being too many in places, that they have to be culled, they are killed and left to waste, just like rabbits. Australia shoud be tanning the kangaroo skins and exporting them all over the world as kangaroo floor rugs, kangaroo coats, jackets, seat covers, bedspreads, and a multitude of other uses. The meat is also another export opportunity in countries that have little money or food shortages. It makes more sense to send this food instead of cash to the poorer countries where people are starving instead of wasting it.
With the vast areas of perfectly usable land in Australia doing nothing, it could easily be used for growing food to feed the over populated countries that don't have the soil quality or land space for growing their own.
As far as improving the soil quality, that can be so easily done by saving and protecting the environment by simply pumping the raw toilet sewerage inland, to grow timber trees in it before using it for food production, by then I am sure any viruses or diseases would be well and truely composted and gone. As it is now, all this raw toilet sewerage is pumped into the ocean to polloute and toxify it, no viruses or diseases are made safe, how do we know there is not AIDS in the seafood we are eating that have fed on this highly toxic diseased, but after composting, nutritious fertilizer we put in their environment.
If we really were concerned about water issues, we would never pump this or any other toxic chemicals into the oceans.

Following is a preview of some of this little easy to read and understand book.

Permanent Potatoes
You need 5 old tyres, newspaper, compost, manure, vegetable scraps, straw.
Place a thick wad of newspaper down where you are going to put them, then put a tyre on top. Put some manure and compost in the bottom then the seed potatoes or potatoes that have grown shoots, and cover with more compost then straw. Water in well, and as top of plant grows taller, fill the tyre with more straw, compost, vegetable scraps and a hand full of cow or chicken manure occasionally, or water with the water from sheep manure, never the raw manure. Another good way to water them is to occasionally wash your dishes in a bowl and give them the water from it. Most gardens love the washing water. As the plants grow taller and taller, keep covering them leaving only about the top 6 inches, or 15 cm of leaves above the soil. This is because the potatoes don't grow from the roots, they grow from in between the leaf nodes. Potatoes and tomatoes are the same plant family, and grow the same, the only difference is that if the "fruit" on potatoes are exposed to sunlight, they either don't develop properly, or they are poisonous, so if you imagine a tomato plant and how it fruits, a potato is the same only you have to keep covering the fruit from the bottom up. By the time the tyres are 4 or 5 high, the top of the plant will die, keep watering until you can dig down into the top tyre and feel the potatoes, then, you place a second wad of newspaper next to you potato stack, and when you take the top tyre off, it starts a new one all over again. Do not unstack the potato stack, just take what you need as you use them, because while they are still in the ground, they will not go off, they stay fresh.
If you are growing them on the ground, you can just keep laying down the top of the plants and covering them with compost, a little manure and straw.
Never grow potatoes and tomatoes together as they can cross pollinate, and the tomatoes will be poisonous.
Tomato and potato leaves are both very toxic, but they can be used as a pesticide, thats FREE, all you need to do is soak a pile of leaves in a bucket of water, leave it for a few days to a week, then put in a spray bottle and use. Do not use on anything you are about to eat.

Vinegar in the Garden
Here is a very cheap and effective cure to all mould or mildew diseases, just add some vinegar to water at a rate of about 10 to 1, and spray. Works exceptionally well on downy mildew on snow peas, zuccini, grapes, or anything that is getting mould from being too wet, but remember that it can affect the ph levels in the soil, so its a good idea to add a little lime or ash and charcoal to the garden to sweeten the soil.
This also works brilliantly on grapes too, in fact the perfect cure for mould, mildew or botrytis. Best part is, [other than costing less than $1 to treat min of 5-10 vines], the usual chemicals to fix it has a 10 day with holding period, [cant use, pick or eat, too toxic still] and by then, you may have lost the whole crop. Vinegar is totally natural and completely safe, and, its made from grapes !

Honey is also great in the garden too, its the best thing I have found to dip cuttings in to ensure a good strike rate, and its the best instant remedy for bee stings, but you need to put it on immediately to make it most effective. Honey has anti-bacterial properties, as well as a growth stimulus for plants.

Snails
Create a border around area you want protected with sawdust, as snails cant travel over it. Inside area, put bowls of water or beer out over night, as snails are nocturnal, and they will fall in and drown.

With poultry it creates a win-win-win-win situation, you cant loose, Ducks, geese and guinea fowl will all seek out and eat snails as well as other caterpillars, weevils, grubs and bugs in the garden, while they are adding some natural organic manure at the same time With poultry it creates a win-win-win-win situation, you cant loose Major benefits are -they seek out and eat snails and bugs -they fertilize -you get eggs from them -you get meat from them -they eat all damaged and fallen fruit preventing fruit fly -they scratch up the ground so there is less weeds -geese make excellent guard dogs -if you let then sit on eggs, they multiply .
If you have lots of foxes in your area, have bantams instead, as they are better in escaping.
